Partial journal of a whaling voyage to the Atlantic, Indian, Pacific, and Arctic Oceans in addition to the Okhotsk Sea, East China Sea, and the Sea of Japan. Includes descriptions of whales seen or taken, children at sea, women on ships, and interactions with natives. Also contains whale stamps, accounts, and a crew list. The captain brought his wife and son on the voyage. The keeper notes that a piano was sent onshore at at Honolulu on November 8, 1858. The crew saw a "dead man afloat" on August 4, 1859. Other places represented include Hope Island (Australia) and Eagle Point (Pacific Ocean).; Old Dartmouth Historical Society (ODHS 188); Whaling vessel, out of New Bedford, Mass., mastered by Abraham Dehart, on voyage 14 August 1857 - 15 May 1861; managing agent: Abraham Barker; built at Bath, Maine, 1833.
